NHRA  tech rules are the BASIC and MINIMUM requirements for every vehicle in competition. The individual racer is responsible for his/her own safety, and should realize that their particular vehicle may require more than these MINIMUM requirements.

In no way is this Quick Reference Chart intended to supersede or replace the current NHRA Rulebook

NITROUS OXIDE

If your bottle is in the drivers compartment or not on the opposite side of a firewall you are required to vent the bottle to the outside of the car.

Track Rules

Radio Station: Dial 91.1 on your FM radio to tune in to the racetrack PA system.

Regarding Pit Vehicles:
       a. You must have a valid driver's license to operate any motorized vehicle. Anyone found in violation, will
themselves, as well as the racer they accompany, be ejected from the event.
       b. Speed limit, for all vehicles, in the pit area is 10 MPH.

Cross Talk: will be utilized  in Super Pro and Motorcycle.

NO E.T.'s are available upon request for $10 payable in the timing tower. Make sure that the words "NO ET" are clearly visible written on the driver's side of the vehicle. The scoreboards will be turned off and the christmas tree will be set on a .4 Pro Tree. If two vehicles are run side by side in NO ET, the ET slips will be cut in half at the ET booth.

All vehicles must pass tech inspection before racing on the track and get a driver's wrist band.

The car number and dial-in must be on the left side before pulling out of the staging lanes, it may not be changed after that. Dial in's will be displayed on the LED boards in the waterbox and once entered into the computer, on the scoreboards. Check you dial-in before you stage, if it is wrong, tell the starter. If you stage, you accept it.Once you pre-stage you will be forced to accept the dial in RIGHT OR WRONG.

Your dial-in must be within the class requirements, and the must pass tech inspection for that elapsed time.

Lane choice is picked by each driver. There will be separate lanes for left and right during time trials and eliminations. At the point the remaining drivers want the same lane, the first car in the pair will have lane choice.

If your are in the staging lanes and are having problems, you will be given 60 seconds to fire and move towards the starting line.

Only vehicles without front brakes may burnout across the starting line.

There is no backing out of the starting beams if your opponent has any of the bulbs lit (unless the starter directs you to), you will be disqualified.  Your final motion must be forward for staging.

If you roll all the way through the beams, you will be disqualified.

When Staging "Deep", do not stop your forward motion after the staging light comes on. Proceed to deep position and be ready. Deep staging is a luxury, not a right. A missed Deep Stage will not be rerun. To ensure a proper deep stage, you should deep stage before your opponent stages.

Courtesy staging is preferred in all bracket classes, but not mandatory.

Scoreboards are unofficial and for your convenience. The tower clocks (what shows on your et slip) are official and will be final should a discrepancy occur.

Re Runs are not racer discretionary. They are only authorized by the Race Director. The Race Director's decision is final in all circumstances.

All cars must have at least one working tail light. All motorcycles must have a working tail light mounted behind the seat or on the wheelie bars.

All bye runs will be picked by the tower, it is random in the first round and based on best reaction time after that. No one will receive a "bye opportunity" more than once. The bye winner must take a tree but does not need to complete the pass to receive round win status.

Break Rule: If a vehicle breaks after receiving the green light, the pass need not be completed to receive round win status.

Excessive braking down track will be a disqualification.

Double entries are allowed, it is your responsibility to make it the lanes.

Payouts are in the top of the timing tower, all money must be picked up the same day it is won or it will be forfeited.

Alcoholic beverages may be consumed in the stands and pit areas only. Not in the staging lanes or on the racetrack. Any driver found drinking and driving in the staging lanes will be sent back to the pits and disqualified.

No glass is permitted in the staging lanes or anywhere on the race track property.

Offensive or threatening behavior towards other racers or staff will be a disqualification.

Any problems or questions should be directed to the Race Director in the tower.
